April BOM: Filmstrip Block

April 02, 2018 by Tacoma MQG in Block of the Month

The block of the month for April is the Filmstrip block with a light background, black borders, and fun or fussy cut centers. Your blocks should be 12.5" unfinished, and the tutorial can be found at Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild.

As always, have fun, and please leave the final trimming to the wonderful ladies sewing the blocks together!

March BOM: Wonky Stars Block Lotto

February 27, 2018 by Tacoma MQG in Block of the Month

We're doing Block Lotto for the block of the month for March! Each block you bring gives you one entry into the block lotto, so feel free to make as many as you'd like to increase your chances of bringing home the whole lot!

Your blocks should be 12.5" unfinished with a light/low volume background and whatever scraps you have in your scrap pile, but as always, please don't trim them down - that way the lucky winner gets to use the same ruler to trim them all ;)

If you made it to the February meeting, Sharon gave us a demo on making the wonky star. If you didn't make it to the meeting, or need a refresher, check out the Wonky Star Tutorial at Owen's Olivia.
