Compression Pillows for Post-Mastectomy Patients

November 15, 2018 by Tacoma MQG

One of our members is a breast surgeon and has requested pillows for her surgery patients to allow them to recover in relative comfort. These are very quick, easy, and a great use of bits and pieces from your scrap bin! If you make any, please bring them to any general membership meeting.

Directions:

Piece some bits together, then cut to size.

Small version: cut fabric 7”x9”.

Larger size: cut fabric 9”x11”.

With wrong sides together and a 1/2” seam allowance, stitch around all four sides, leaving about 3-4” unstitched...be sure to backstitch at start and end!

Turn right side out, and stuff moderately firm with polyfil.

Blindstitch closed (or edgestitch by machine).

Clean up with a lint roller and you are done.
