October's meeting was full of great Sew and Tell, summer projects, community quilts, re-purposed materials made anew and our great Black and White + One challenge. If you missed us check out the minutes.
Blocks of the month, a member showcase by Karen, some improv cheddar, a visit from the lovely ladies of Crystal Quilters, a great HST demonstration from Kathy, and of course Paint Chip Challenge projects revealed! If you missed it, check out the minutes.
Our guild is participating in this year's challenge - to make a collaborative, improvised twin sized quilt using a pre-determined color palette. The completed quilt will be sent off to Quiltcon West and hung on display with quilts from guilds all over the country. When our quilt returns home, it will be donated to a local charity group.
Participating guild members were given fabric to take home and make some improv quarter log cabin blocks. These will be collected at our September meeting. Come to our Sew In on September 26th at Evergreen Quilting to help make some more blocks and piece this top, it's going to be fun!
What color did you get?!
Last year's challenge was awesome. Members made some amazing projects using the mystery paint chip color they selected at random. This year's is guaranteed to be just as good. We can't wait to see what completed project you'll bring to our October 22nd meeting!
