The block of the month for December is the Improv Quarter Log Cabin, from A Quilter’s Table. Find the tutorial here.
Colors for this month are grey and yellow, and the size should be 12.5”, unfinished. Please bring your completed block to the next meeting!
One of our members is a breast surgeon and has requested pillows for her surgery patients to allow them to recover in relative comfort. These are very quick, easy, and a great use of bits and pieces from your scrap bin! If you make any, please bring them to any general membership meeting.
Piece some bits together, then cut to size.
Small version: cut fabric 7”x9”.
Larger size: cut fabric 9”x11”.
With wrong sides together and a 1/2” seam allowance, stitch around all four sides, leaving about 3-4” unstitched...be sure to backstitch at start and end!
Turn right side out, and stuff moderately firm with polyfil.
Blindstitch closed (or edgestitch by machine).
Clean up with a lint roller and you are done.
For November’s meeting please bring:
· BOM – block lotto, see the blog post for details
· A 4x6 inch piece of your favorite fabric in order to participate in our name tag embroidery make and take
· A donation for the birthday basket if your birthday is in November
· Any Sew n Tell projects to share
See you there!
